and also i'm pretty sure that the man in the song is the father of the woman that the singer is with "maybe if he'd had a son things might have been different somehow maybe i wouldn't have known 'you' (( the chick he's seeing )) and i wouldn't feel so fucked up now" like he's with this chick and things are just crazy with him and his girl and he's looking up to her dad for advice because he's like a father figure to him ?? i don't know that's just my take on it ... if that makes any sense |

it is "is it dropsy", which is the name of a disease where there is swelling of soft tissues due to excess water. And while it can happen to humans, it is usually present in fish. Regardless of what the song is about, fish or relationships or drug addiction, I love that there is that complex of wanting to protect and save whatever, or whoever it is that he obviously cares very much about. It's like he'd do anything to protect them from suffering. Kind of like that whole Holden Caufield complex. |
