"Give me laugh." Give me something to be happy about. Anything. Make me happy. "Give me pain." Give me something to cry about so I don't take the good times for granted. "Give me high." Make me FEEL. "Give me..." Everything. "Nothing." Don't give me anything. "If time should end." If I can't have you, I don't want anything. ...Was that really saying what the song means to me? XD I guess that's just my thoughts on those parts of the song and what's being implied. This is a very powerful Dir en grey song. It makes me cry. I think, like a lot of Kyo's lyrics, this is about love. But this one views it in a different way than most of his songs, I think. Almost like he doesn't WANT love if it has to end. He doesn't want it because he doesn't want to have to lose it, so he'd rather not love than love and lose. Goes against the old saying, doesn't it? But it's a good way to keep yourself from getting hurt, and I think Kyo's conveying that time goes by, everything ends, and if you're not willing to be hurt, then don't ask for love in the first place. |
