Anyone else get the feeling it's not about a girl, but maybe about a materialistic world? 'It turns the trees to diamond things' 'We could both be naked now and innocent' Maybe he's writing about materials and desires covering the world with a heavy burden and the more we pile on, the worse it'll get.. We could strip it all off and be naked and free? Who knows, maybe it's just me.. Excellent song regardless :) |

"the time i would spend with pictures i would not send " He's thinking about all the moments where he considered reaching out to her, but didn't. "i watched you go from left to right i followed you all night across my blinds" This is pretty easy, he's obviously up all night thinking about her, obsessing, driving himself crazy "you'll change your mind come monday and turn you back on me take your steps away with hesitance take your steps away from me" This chorus sums up the back bone of the song, the girl he's in love with is indecisive and he's scared of it. She can't decide if she wants to be with him, walking away with hesitance, but he's certain she'll turn her back this time. "making my peace making it with distance maybe that's a big mistake" This verse describes him trying to accept that she's no good for him. He's not sure if he wants to, but he knows he needs to let go and stay distant. "you know i'm thinking of you i miss you" He obviously still cares about her, loves her, misses her. Basically, this is an extremely sad song. Love broken up by indecisiveness and probably stubborness. Feeling forced to give up on your lover because she can't decide what she wants/needs. :( |
