I never actually thought about the "nightingale" as being a reference to death. Interesting. If that's the case, I guess the song could be referring to the idea that, despite being surrounded by the inevitability of death, she just wants to feel alive. But yes, Danny is right, trying to decipher Nightwish lyrics is like trying to tell the sun to stop rising. :P |

To me, and I might be WAY off base here, but I think it's about seeing the good in something or someone when no one else sees it. I'm still not sure about the "never-fading rain," but then again, that's what I've always loved about Nightwish's lyrics. |

This is easily my favorite song on the album. In my opinion (emphasis on OPINION), this is one of Evanescence's best songs to date, and if this doesn't show their growth as a band..I don't know what does. |
