for all you who slam this song, this is what i have to say to you, shut the fuck up, and stop listening to glassjaw, because you cannot handle, i have been to many glassjaw shows and i have met and spoken to darryl at almost every one of them, he is a genuinely nice guy who goes out and meets and greets with all the fans before every show, whether they are female or male. If you wanna slam someone, go bitch to guys who beat their girlfriends and wives when theyre fucking angry, not someone who writes songs about it to express his anger. If more people expressed their anger and emotions through writing and music, then we would have alot less scumbags in this world |

this song is about a friend of the bands who was with this girl when he was away at college, but it was on the low so nobody knew about it, and she went and fucked all of his friends, and he kinda just sat around and let this go on without saying anything. |

well i first wanna start off by telling browneyesbleed to f*ck off and stop listening to glassjaw because he obviously has no comprehension of their music if he says that darryl is abit to skinny to be talking shit like that. Ok pretty lush was written by darryl after one of his female friends went away to college and began partaking in some things that werent quit kosher with darryl , ie drinking partying etc, thats where the "you can lead a whore to water and you can bet she'll drink and follow orders" line comes from. Amidst all the bullshit that this girl was doing, she was forgetting about darryl and their friendship, and darryl didnt appreciate being beat out by the bottle, especially since he is sXe, and he especially didnt appreciate being moved past like he was just a phase in this girls life. |
