One of the best songs about insecurity that has ever been written. It's so well sung (by Colin Blunstone) you don't immediately think he's a chump, you feel his "pain" because we've all been in a "relationship" with someone (at least once) that was so hot & such a flirt your confidence level plummets. |

Great Rod Argent composition. I have a different interpretation of the lyrics. It appears the "singer" (Colin Blunstone) is in the "anger & denial" phase of a relationship break-up. He appears to be more upset at his friends (for not telling him that his girl was steppin' out on him & lying about it) than he is at his own self for making a poor choice & falling for her. Hence what good is it if your girl is so great looking & sexy-voiced if she's not around (she's not there). |
