The whole immigrant thing has been blown out of proportion. What I think he is trying to do is tell a story about the tables getting turned on the White American when he became an immigrant on a trip to Mexico. It's not saying that White Americans are immigrants in America, which is a true statement, rather that during this story that is being told about Icky Thump he was White American that was viewed as an immigrant in Mexico. By saying that White Americans have "nothing better to do", Jack is referring to the White Americans that travel to Mexico and treat it as their playground. The mexican response, "kick your self out, you're an immigrant too". |

Also love this song. I think this is about an older man or woman. They are doing everything they can to stay alive taking vitamins and doing things they've never done before (visiting the dentist). They are looking forward to the afterlife (the city on the moon) yet they want to stay alive for a while so they can see their grandson grow old. |
