Yeah um somebody wanna clear up the whole straw wrapper thing? I've never heard of it before, but i searched the superstition on the internet, and everything points to the opposite of what Forrest sings... that if you get a knot, nobody is thinking about you, and if it tears through, then someone is thinking about you. At least, that's what I saw for the most part.
Anyways, i love this song. It makes me think of my best friend. Especially when she's away, like now. I guess it could mean a lot of things, but i totally dedicate it to her |

"Oh we're not worthy!"
Hahah that is probably my favorite line out of the song, because i think it may be a tribute to Wayne's World. Did you guys notice that? He says it juuust like they do in the movie, when Wayne and Garth get on the ground and repeart "We're not worthy! We're not worthy!" to Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.
Hahahah..ok maybe not, but i think its funny, and that's all that matters. |

This song just finally kinda hit me.
I think its about two friends. Chris and this girl. They're just having fun, drinking. Not enough to get them completely wasted, but enough for a buzz. So they know fully well what they're doing. Maybe they have feelings for eachother, deep down, under the friendship. They never tell eachother these things in fear of embarrassment, or possibly ruining the friendship. When inebriated, its a chance for them to finally express their feelings to eachother. Not that they're drunk and rambling all their thoughts (although the buzz is probably not hurting that), but that no matter what they do, after it all, they can just think "hey well, we were drunk, and that's okay. that won't hurt us." They start getting close, and Chris wants more. They have sex. And Chris is totally in awe over this girl. He completely loves her. Maybe for just that moment, or maybe he's always held that secret in. But they embrace eachother, and everything is drunken and confused, and that makes it all okay.
I like that its friends sharing this. Its something really deep, and I'd guess that Chris must smile everytime he plays this live.
And yeah, i definitely get the deeper meaning from this song. I think its meant to be interpreted however you want, and i think everybody's right in their own interpretations. Fuck i love this song. |
