| Limp Bizkit – The Story Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Well you definitely live up to your name "Klown". "Limpsters" is not a f**king word... so you can't blame the first post for mockingly pointing that out! Anyways, on to the meaning. This song is about the second skin that comes with life in the spotlight and points out the fact that all the glamour (I'm Canadian, we spell it with a 'u') eventually comes to an end. He goes further to demonstrate that it happens everyday and it's a part of life, we all have a story (maybe not on E!Hollywood) and they all have a beginning, a climax and a conclusion. That's why you have to hold on to your greatest memories and cherish them, because social status doesn't matter... its all about what it means to you! |

| The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Misery Loves Its Company Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
The intro is wrong, its: "Listen close, as the rain falls down to the ground" This song simply sums up the fact that mankind will be the cause of its own destruction. This has been a though for a long time, but the singer begs "Am I the only one who realizes its true" I am an atheist and as much as I try to deny the significant Biblical influence in the song, I cannot. It is obvious that the composer believes in God. However, I think that if you deconstruct this song and remove the Biblical implications... you have a truly strong meaning that can be appreciated by people of all beliefs. |

| Deftones – Feiticeira Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Feiticiera means charming in English and I think this does have implications on the meaning of the song. The subject of the song is clearly going through what most would consider a nightmare... but undercover I think they are being enjoying the ride and begin to find the abuser charming. "first untie me untie me for now you said you would, right? and you were right" It seems like the subject is "asking" to be untied, instead of "begging" (which one would expect in such a situation) and the abuser does untie the victim "and you were right". Seems like there is a Stockholm Syndrome aspect to the song, anyone else feel it? |

| Finger Eleven – I'll Keep Your Memory Vague Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think this song is about a person that you have probably known for a long time and would like to create distance between youself and them. The hard part is that while you want distance, you really dont want to hurt the other person. You dont want to be the one to ruin the relationship, so by keeping their memory vague you are trying to prevent yourself from being blamed for the separation. The excuse for this situation is explained by telling the other person that memories keep us close. Although it is beautifully performed, I think this song is semi-cowardly, because under these circumstances the person singing is simply trying to escape a delicate situation by manipulating the other to not feel bad... but the other person has this right simply because the singer is misleading them. I think the lesson in learned in the end of the song when the singer is asking " where in the world have you gone now?"... a sign of their regret for letting the relationship get away. This song could in fact apply to any close relationship... |

| I Am Ghost – Lady Madeline In Her Coffin Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I like I Am Ghost... but there just seems to be too much reference to vampires in their music. Vampires are cool... they do make decent subject for an intimate song... but I think the group touch on the subject too often. The have amazing music & lyrical talent... but I would hate to think that they have run out of content so early in their music career. However, I applaud their creativity and effort to make unique music and for some this is what makes them prevail as a listenable new band... I just look forward to their future! |

| I Am Ghost – Crossing the River Styx Lyrics | 18 years ago |

No Comments? This song is a beautiful ballad, it give me an image of entering a forsaken cathedral... monolithic doors open as I am blinded by light. After the 'release' I am drawn inside... but like a dream I cannot describe how it looks. The meaning itself is made rather clear by the lyrical translation above. No explanation is really needed, although the imagery it brings to my mind is the grounds for my comment. |
