| Bob Dylan – The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest Lyrics | 14 years ago |

sorry guys, i haven't looked at this in years. I have no answers for the plotted plain and footstool and I have little biblical knowledge. My understanding of those two lines is that they're simply for rhyme scheme and characterization, I don't think there is much to read into there. And as for the little boy with his guilt so well concealed, I believe stevethehorse nailed it. It makes sense. |

| I'm pretty sure the line "give em coca-cola for their property" is a reference to Africa (I think) where coca-cola is buying land from the natives and forcing them from it while polluting their water supply. They have no way of cleaning the water for drinking and it is a huge issue. | |

I'm pretty sure the song is not about unprotected sex. That is completely unfounded. "If everything I meant to you, You can lick and seal then fold in two Then I've been so blind" The lyric is indeed "can" not "can't". He is suggesting that if she can collect all that he has meant to her on a piece of paper then she loved him less than he thought (if at all). |

You guys keep badmouthing him, saying he is misleading and such. But at least you all know what Sierra Leone is now, because he used his power to draw attention to a huge issue. Unfortunately, this point was lost.. |

| Bob Dylan – The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest Lyrics | 18 years ago |

The first few stanzas are used to characterize Judas and Frankie Lee. Lee suffers under the 'cold stare' of Judas Priest, and although Judas appears to be helping Frankie, he is encouraging his addiction to gambling by providing more money. This is the first betrayal which likens Priest to Judas Iscariot (betrayer of Jesus). Pressuring Frankie Lee to take the money potentially represents the pressure Dylan faces to sign another contract. I can't find much support for this idea though. The 'home' is definitely a whorehouse. The abundance of women drives Frankie Lee into a frenzy of worldly desire. Dylan uses rabid imagery here to depict the sudden irrationality and temptation that has overcome Frankie Lee. He is now a rabid animal. 'Foaming at the mouth, he began to make his midnight creep' (Rabies causes salivation and abnormal sleeping/living habits). Beyond this, Frankie Lee dies of thirst. Rabies was called "hydrophobia" because those infected cannot swallow and have an irrational fear of water and liquids. I can't make sense of the little boy carrying Frankie Lee at the end, unfortunately. |

| Rufio – Pirate Lyrics | 18 years ago |

you're all correct, the guitar is good, it involves pirating music, and the effects of pirating on music you see we've pirated so much music, that we have lost a sense of appreciation for music ("Will someone tell my why we even listen? Airwaves are filled with repeition What ever happened to selection?") you used to have to "select" music carefully, listen to that album, because it cost money. but in this manner we learned to appreciate the music. Now, we simply listen, discard and download more.. after all, a big music library means you're superior to others, doesn't it? music has changed from an appreciation, a hobby, to some kind of indicator, we try to impress people with our knowledge of all different types of music and all differetn bands ("Follow new trends Be sure you get it right") In reality we are losing sight of what music is really about. We search for a quantity of understanding of music, rather than a quality of understanding |
