So no, it's not really twisted or psychotic at all… It's more miserable and heartbreaking than anything else… But I guess I can see why you'd think that, if you take the song's lyrics for face-value. But, the more you listen to Diru, the more you realize you can't take their songs for face value… |

Okay, I have to say something… Unless you've lost your wife/husband AND your only child, than over half of his songs DON'T relate to you… As a fan of Dir en Grey who owns all of their CDs, B-Sides, Rarities and Singles, (Through much discussion with other fans, as well), it's the safest to assume that songs such as this reflect a deep loss he's experienced… You'll notice a recurring theme of children and lovers in his sadder, more 'personal' songs… Even further for apparent is a theme of loss… Ain't Afraid to Die, Kasumi, Mushi and Higeki Ha Mabuta Wo Oroshita Yasashiki Utsu being very good examples of that… I feel as if he thinks himself part to blame for this great loss he's endured… Perhaps he is full of hatred and misery for being forced to live a life without that which he holds most dear… All I know is that his songs aren't your typical "I hate myself 'cause I got dumped" nonsense that's infested music today, even if it might seem like it at first… Well, I've said my peace ^^" |
