The Black Dahlia Murder – The Blackest Incarnation Lyrics 18 years ago
A bit more epic than that. Werewolf seems right, but he's gained incredible power, to the point where he plans to bring down heaven, God, Humanity, everything. Amazing song.

Mankind seems bent on killing each other. This is bad. The end. Good song though.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Spite Suicide Lyrics 18 years ago
Trevor has stated in at least one interview that this song is about a failed relationship he had which resulted in an abortion. He makes more than one reference to it on the album, suggesting that's it's haunted him quite a bit.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Novelty Crosses Lyrics 18 years ago
I actually think this is about a preacher who molests his female congregation, but everything the original poster said is advocated as well.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Miscarriage Lyrics 18 years ago
It's about the failure of the system and humanity. Essentially, everything sucks. Focuses on vice, including drinking, selfishness, lust, mentions abortion a little. Miscarriage refers to the failure to produce good in this circumstance.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Miasma Lyrics 18 years ago
The first poster had a correct interpretation, but it's notable that Trevor specifies the young and rebellious. The second poster was also correct. as well as the third.

The Black Dahlia Murder – I'm Charming Lyrics 18 years ago
This is actually a song about Trevor (the singer and writer) himself. It's apparent because of the mention of the unborn child he and an ex had, which was aborted. Because he mentions the incident twice on the album, I assume it has haunted him pretty heavily. This album is more introspective, and thus has a recurring theme of life and pain on the road. Check interviews with him on the matter, he explains this.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Hymn For The Wretched Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is about a collective of outcasts, heretics, etc, who prey on the humanity that rejected them.

The Bezerker's drums are programmed, hence the speed of the blast beats.

Trevor provides all vocals on the recordings, often on different tracks (always for the parts with both ranges at once). Low vocals are done by a guitarist when both voices are needed live.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Funeral Thirst Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is about a zombie, but one who is consciously aware of his uncontrolled actions. You can also tell he is rather young, probably a teenager (coffin of premature fate, tears of his family, etc.) He may have been killed by someone, and is driven to revenge. Great stuff.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Flies Lyrics 18 years ago
Trevor has stated in an interview that this song is about a failed relationship with a recovering bulimic. He wasn't too specific, but I think it's something he actually experienced.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Elder Misanthropy Lyrics 18 years ago
OW Angel is write, played on distorted guitar the song is exactly the same. In addition, sacrificed's interpretation is almost the exact same as Slapbass', only he took an agressive stance, so I guess he's 14 or something and not popular in school. The Cain idea is interesting to me, but I'm not sure it fits entirely.

Please people, talk about what the lyrics may or may not be about and stop repeating yourself. Also, check interviews and such, alot of the song meanings are explained by the artists themselves.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Dave Goes To Hollywood (Vice Campaign) Lyrics 18 years ago
It's about decadence on tour. It's a vice campaign in that the vices of self-destruction, drinking, and abuse are being brought from city to city. It's about a band, evidenced by the use of words like 'us' as in "They shall not kill us". He also refers to all the people he's met and seen, how he feels so shitty that it's like he's gonna die, etc. This is a recurring theme on Miasma, and IMO is weak when compared to the imagination of the first album.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Contagion Lyrics 18 years ago
This is just another of their songs about zombies/werewolves. It could be either, and they've had songs specifically about both.

Trevor does the highs and lows, and on recordings it's still him when both voices are going at once. He simply records them on different tracks. Live, the guitar credited as backing screams does the lows when Trev wants both at once.

The Black Dahlia Murder – Apex Lyrics 18 years ago
The outro is an excerpt from a book, essentially a cannibal's cookbook. It's a real piece of literature, pretty interesting at that. I believe it's called "Butchering the human carcass for human consumption" or something like that.

Anyways, the song is about desecration, dissection, and consuming of the dead, apparently killed by the gourmet himself. The album begins with several excerpts from the book as well.
