"never get so attached to a poem, you forget truth that lacks lyricism." it's probably one of my favorite lines in all of her writing. it's such a depressing warning. that poetry may portray forms of truth in a not so literal way. though they may be achingly beautiful, melodic and unreal they still tell of the "real" world. one of the first joanna newsom songs i heard. love love.

"between the click of the light and the start of the dream." the end of your physical life and the beginning of your life. your life without physical attatchments. a nice way to interpret dreams. you're sleeping, but still living your life through your mind and not so much through your body. a live performance of this song on youtube. check it out. it's supernatural. phenomenal.
