alright. first off...whos read enders game? I can totally connect this to enders game. "I think I'm drowning Asphyxiated I wanna break this spell That you've created" When Ender is in the Fairyland game and is really depressed because he keeps dying, he sees the two glasses in front of the giant and he imagines the deaths that will become him either "asphtixtiation" or "drowning". and he wants to break this spell...which is either the puzzle to winning the game, or just a ref. to a fairyland in general. "You're something beautiful A contradiction I wanna play the game I want the friction" The game is a contradiction, they are saving the world to destroy it. the game is obvious since ender is constantly playing the game. "i want the friction" he obviously wants to just do what he was born to do, but feel something as well. " You will be the death of me (x2)" The game, because it turns him near depression. "Bury it I won't let you bury it I won't let you smother it I won't let you murder it Our time is running out Our time is running out You can't push it underground You can't stop it screaming out" This could either be refering to the Bugger race and ender saving the larve, or his childhood, because by being who he is, it is ruining his childhood. He wants out but he has to play, he really really wants out, but he has to play and yet he actually wants to play because he is competitive. "Now that you know I'm trapped Sense of elation You'd never dream of Breaking this fixation" Graff and Anderson etc. are really happy that they know he is "Trapped" and will deliver and now that they know that ender is their man, they won't send him home. "You will squeeze the life out of me" Ender refering to the game. "How did it come to this? Ooh ooh ooh yeah yeah yeah You will suck the life out of me" the first part refering to them lying to Ender and all the kids, or just the bugger war in general. "suck the life out of me" the game.. so yeah. enders game rocks. |

alright. I don't think it is about gay love. It could, and probably is but I'm in deeeeep denile because it fits me and my complicated love relationship so well (and I'm straight) A) you have to remember this is by a british bands and many girls wear ties for their uniforms. and anyway, it could just be forbidden love in general. Pretty much, i was in love with this guy and we were in a park and we were saying goodbye because he was moving, and i had a boyfriend at the time...but anyway, i really wanted to kiss him or whatever i could do, and we were sitting on park benches that were really close to the lake (water). So yeah. and i kept a bracelet of his that he gave me... so this song is really close to my heart and now i'm kind of bummed that i saw it was about gay love. though I'm incredibly liberal and I'm cool with homosexual relationships, it's just i thought maybe i had some connection with the bloc party singer or something cool like that. but now i know! and when i saw the video it made it really meaningful. and yeah. I'm still in love with this song. |

I think it's about a guy who is practically obsessed with this girl, and they have probably even been fooling around, and now she has him hooked...but shes either A) a nympho so the "death of him" is literally the physical exerition or B) She decides to move onto another guy and he is devastated because he started to have feelings for this girl, and the longer they dont do anything else, the less likely it will be that they will be together. So hes stuck in this one sided infatuation, and shes feeding him just enough to egg him on, but not love him. etc etc. |
