I think its about someone expecting something of you that you can't give, you are desperate to please them, but at a loss as to how to do so. But then maybe it comes down to you just not really wanting it, cos after all passion spawns from being passionate right? so if its not there, dont force it and dont dwell in regret of what you could have, would have or did not do. |

hmm, having noone to relate to can be pretty depressing. This guy can't connect with anyone on a soul-mate level it would seem, but hey, just as is said its not wrong to rely solely on yourself- (solitude was never seen as loneliness). I would change soul to sole at some stage in this song to expand on the meaning of a SOLE soul (that is one-of-a-kind and thus, alone), anyways thats my thinking.So pretending to be someone you are not is not gonna help you in this sad world of ours. And dont worry yourself- we're all headed in this downward direction and the realisation of this fate frees our mind of excessive question. |

Wow, noones posted on this song? hmm, thats definitley disapointing seeing as though this is one of my favourites by anathema. Well, heres mine then: pretty much something that I really connect with, sick of people feigning interest in one another that you just lose all feeling for people, building up resentment and distrust. Then some jackass will turn around and call you heartless- but its like hey man,you and people like you are the fucking reason I am this way, YOU made me this way, you are the reason for this epidemic that devours the soul.
