| I know this post was made a year ago but I must simply say that I am fascinated by your interpretation, and wholeheartedly agree. This song is the Phoenix of all tool songs. | If you are putting Gwar in any genre at all... Congratulations!!!! You just missed the point! If you have listened to and are familiar with their entire body of works, then Im wasting my time, you already knew that. Im very happy that you are all interested in, or even consider yourself fans of, Gwar. I encourage you all to listen to more than 1 album. In fact, I think that anyone throwing the word 'punk' around should also keep in mind that "Hell-O" is in fact garage music. They were just starting out and had no equipment. This does not mean they are punk or influenced by punk music. Gwar can and will play any style, type, or genre of music at any given moment. Label Gwar? First of all Id like to say that I agree with Captain Dorkstar a few pages back. It really doesnt make any sense to go through the trouble of setting up an account on here just to complain about bands or the songs u dont like. I think this site is more meant 4 u 2 describe what a song means 2 u not to complain about it. Maybe you guys just arent reading? It clearly says 'What does this song mean to you?' not 'Why are you such a jackass?' so if u dont like this song or Atreyu then find a band u do like and find a song u like and comment about what it means 2 u. mmmm k Thanks! So anyway, to appreciate a band you must embrace its creativity and diversity. Lucky 4 us Atreyu is an incredibly diverse band that can take u from A to Z in 2 songs flat. This song is very close to my favorite Atreyu song because of what it means 2 me, the fact that it shreds is a bonus. I believe 'The Theft' refers to the heart and soul. A man is completely swept away by a woman and she destroys him leaving him 'crushed and numb' with nothing that 'resembles the soul of a man'. He loses himself in her and then loses her altogether and in the end of the song he is trying to pick up the pieces 'climb down and test the waters' but he just cant make it back 2 reality. Very sad and meaning ful song. Especially with the way it ends with the strings. (I think its strings) I love how Atreyu can kick your ass and then sing a ballad the next song! |
