'Sit right down if you're a friend, there aren't too many left of them' indicates to me straight away that this song is about relationship problems with people. In Pete's case I can imagine possibly because of fakers you must come across when you become famous who are only after satisfying their own hidden agendas. 'You look better now than last time But you still look better from afar' I can imagine this line being used as a backhanded compliment aimed at a girl - basically you look good from a distance but when close you're not that special. 'When it suits you you're a friend of mine' to me describes fake friends who are only around when they want something from you. Brilliant song as it describes the shitty relationships we all have with people who turn out to be not genuine. And that guitar solo at the beginning is superb! |

Awesome song - the bass line is hypnotising. My perception on this song is that it begins by describing the criminal as someone whos an 'animal'. Then the focus is switched by saying 'im not your animal', implying the song writer is under false suspition of being this 'criminal' character. In one line, its about being falsley accused of being a 'criminal', depicted in the first verse as the person with an animalistic nature. |

The line 'Take a tip from me, climb up to her window ledge' to me means building the courage to make a move for a girl you like. It reminds me of Romeo climbing up to Juliet's window ledge. Then the next line saying 'or you'll forever be; walking under ladders as the people around you hear u crying please' meaning if you don't, you will be left alone as everyone else has made the ladder climb up to their Juliet's window ledge. Awesome song. |
