=/ This song is so terribly depressing, I hate it. I don't care for the sound, they've really lost their touch. I was never a huge fan, but their music was passable to say the least. =/ But lately, like all good bands, it seems these days, they're slipping behind. I *really* don't mind songs that vent dark emotions, I *am * a Manson fan, afterall...but this song feels so hopeless. =/

I love this song. XD It so totally fits me. I agree with most of the opinions here. *nodnod* Not much to add, but I do think Guns N' Roses is practically legendary; almost as legendary as Axl's temper.

This song......I think could be interpeted differently depending on the situation of each person. I don't know about you, but when I listen to a song, the meaning differs with each mood I'm feeling. I think this could could easily be interpeted as a religious song or as a parent-child song or even forsaken love...for me it's a combination of all three.

Within Temptation – The Truth Beneath The Rose Lyrics

I doubt whether this song is about Christians who shove their religion down other people's throats. This song makes me think of the Crusades, a time when Muslims and Christians killed for their own God, which technically is the same. It could also easily, I think, be translated for people who kill for him, but not necessarily bodily kill. Religous zealots like Ed Gein's mother, I think who assume they are doing his will, but are really destroying themselves and the people they affect. I think she sings from the point of view of one of these zealots who just realized, or came to the realization of what she has been doing and is questioning whether this is really the way to get into Heaven. I never liked the Da Vinci code....It was stupid. -_-;; Buncha fools. This is a really good song, though despite that.

God.....This song reminds me of a recent friendship I had with a guy. He seemed so perfect, wise, beautiful. And like....I opened my very soul to him.....and he made all these promises to me......he even kissed me and showed me what I thought was love. I came to depend on him and he up and left me in the dust. Then my friend showed me this song and I ended up in tears. I felt every word of it. Especially since I have a particular love for angels.

I think.....the references to the garden are very good and maybe he is just talking about a garden. Or maybe he's making those references to the garden to enforce the whole "betrayed-love" theme. But....what I truly feel...is that most of Manson's songs.......are made to be interpeted differently by different people. Meaning, they are supposed to leave you to question and wonder and maybe what one person thinks and feels about the song is different from someone else. It's an open-ended song....Meh...that's just my humble opinion.

........this is ridiculous...What kind of Christians are they to point fingers? Didn't their precious Bible say to not judge? I always thought their job was to save lives, not destroy? So much for that theory. Maybe...just maybe if "Christians" actually got out of their little holes in the ground and reached out to Manson...maybe he'd change. Manson does listen to people's opinion and probably has a higher I.Q. than these losers. I don't hate God and still listen to Manson. He has alot to say....If you read in between the lines in his songs, you could learn something. Perhaps the Christians feel that he threatens their intelligence. I tell my mom..-who is a rabid Manson hater- That if someone would finally give a damn and make Manson a Christian, then hellm I'd be one too. But no one cares in this cold, mechanical world of ours and this song is proof of that.
