This makes me think of death. If you just, look at the lyrics and imagine that they're about death... Well, it's creepy. It kinda works. The first verse seems to be like the fear of death, because they try to pray away the thoughts of dying but it isn't working. After that, it seems that they're confronted with death. 'Break my legs to hold me to you' That's my favorite line ever, but... Yes. I believe that 'you' happens to be Death itself. Death seems to want her, and it is selfishly taking her away from life. And after that, it's just before she's about to die. The quiet is like the calm silence you feel before death, apparently. And 'breaks the tie that binds me to it' refers to being cut off from life. If you kill the body, the soul has no other place to go. And then at the end, where she's saying 'catch my hand' etc etc.. It's where she wants to live again, like she's calling out for another chance. She wants to be pulled back into life by someone and comforted. Eh, maybe that someone is who she'd call a god. Anyway, I love this song. It has a lovable creepiness to it. |

Ah, whoops. I wrote this on notepad and forgot the paste the first part. Here. The title itself makes me think of self mutilation. It seems be about a relationship--not neccessarily one as boyxgirl but like friends and whatnot... Like saiea said, it can be interpreted many different ways. I'm going to say that it's a mixture of the things she's said. I envy your demise I hope it's all you dreamed it would be One bullet in this gun Not sure if it's for you or me I envy your demise With all the guilt you hid away All the lies that I had spun And all the times I wished you'd stay The other person in this relationship is giving into something such as depression. This person starts to skip out on things and avoid people because they've deeper into depression. This frustrates Jess because she wants this person to stop wasting themselves away and to continue keeping her company, noting that she wants them to stay. But really, this frustrates her to extremes. She seems to think that the only way out of the situation is to kill either one of them. Now, all that I'll ever suffer All that I'll ever be All that I'll ever ruin You can always cover me with makeup This person has been blaming her for their depression, and making her feel as if she's ruined her life and that Jess should suffer too. Jess is trying to mend this by saying that she (the problem) can be covered with makeup, therefore hinting that she wants this person to get out of depression. If Jessicka considers herself the problem, she still wants to help, but does not want to destroy herself to make this other person better. I envy your demise Seven hundred and fifty degrees When it burned it smelled like you But it scorched and looked a lot like me Now Jessicka has agreed with the person, who is making her feel like she's at fault for this person's depression. It seems here that she's burning herself out of aggrivation at this person. When the burn worsens, it looks ugly. And this other person's words have gotten to her, so she probably has self esteem that's low as hell. She therefore thinks that the burn looks ugly and it makes her think of herself. (But I love Jessicka to bits. She isn't ugly.) I envy your demise You never said that you'd try When I had to lose control Lose control to really cry This person is not making an effort to make themselves better. When Jessicka finally can't take the situation any longer and she breaks down, the person does nothing to help. Now, all that I'll ever abuse All that I'll ever see All that I'll ever ruin You can always cover it with makeup All that I'll ever limit All that I'll ever try All that I'll ever trust You can always cover it with All that I'll ever abuse All that I'll ever see All that I'll ever ruin You can always cover it with makeup This person is hurting themself, and Jessicka feels as if she's abusing them. She still, however, wants them to be better, and wants them to cover up their scars (burns, bruises, other injuries?) and get better. Of course, I'm making it seem really innocent. ...I love this song. |

I think it's about overcoming religion. I'm not obsessive over this band, so I don't know about Jessicka's background. (Please don't kill me, JOJ mega fans...) But I'm pretty sure she was raised with a Christian family of some sort, and was presented with Christianity's ideas. It seems that she accepts them at first and tries to follow it. "Now I'm God because God never loved me this much" I think she was let down by this God, and realizes that God is not in control of humans. "Your God is just losing his touch" Then it seems to go to self worship, because she asks for praise... She then rejects Christianity and goes against those principles. She then says things about the 'dead god' as if to indicate that she's defeated him. Therefore, she had overcome religion and defies those poor religious people around her. I think it's a very empowering song. It's really relatable. |

This makes me think of a forced love. Like, she wants to 'cut away the empty.' Perhaps someone loves her, and she wants to love them back, and therefore wants to change herself so that she can do that. But when she says that she can't be changed, it's more of a wake up call that love can't be forced. |

God, this is such a good song. It has some eerie lyrics, but it builds up really nicely. I never tire of this... But really, it's just awesome. It's just a 'wow' song. |
