This song is filled with melancholy. But it's meaning is undefining. The meaning is pretty self-explanitory, however, it's about love, of course. I would say that she left him for someone else, and he is trying to stay friends, but everytime he sees her with the other guy it tears him to pieces. He constantly thinks about her, and what she's doing or if she's with him. He loves her, but she wanted someone else. The worse case senario. I think this is an extraordinary song. It has profound meaning, but is hid by such simplistic lyrics. Essentially, the song is about losing someone close to you, and realizing how that person has acted, and realized their mistakes. It's about remembering your past, and the things they had together;as one. It's about loving someone deeply and finding your faults within that relationship. Even after it ended, he still remembers everything you had. |

I offically love this song. I am so glad they decided to make such a soft and deep song. I actually couldn't believe it was Fall Out Boy because all of their songs are so upbeat, & this one is just the opposite. Patrick's voice is so deep & you can tell he means every line he says. It's so sad, & he puts so much feeling into this song. & when he says" How cruel is the golden rule"- that is so true, because "do to others as you would have them do to you" But you can be the nicest person & there is still someone who would be mean to you. So the Golden rule is so cruel. Nowadays, People just live there lives as lies. "All of the mothers raise there babies to stay away from me"- thatr is probably the sadest line in the song. Because these days, people don't realize the message behind the music, & they raise there kids not to listen to 'this' kind of music, & they don't even know what it's about. "All the lovers with no time for me"- I think that means, he has so many fans and he has to constantly worry about everyone else, that he barely has time for himself or his life, which is very sad =/ That's my guess on what the song means. =D |
