| Guillemots – Blue Would Still Be Blue Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Contrasts so beautifully with the cynicism of Made Up Love Song - all those line about 'And they're poetry in an empty coke can' are just turned on their head with the ideas of 'the stars wouldn't fall from the sky' It seems the character in the album has come a long way from the jubilation of getting the girl (Made Up Love Song) and the despair of losing her (Redwings, If the World Ends). We've learnt about the fragility of human life in Trains to Brazil, and now its not a desperate plea for love, but more a frank and heartfelt song. It's so stripped back and bare that it just seems so much more real in comparison. |

| Young Knives – Half Timer Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| A satire of the modern mentality of Indie bands who buck against those who actually work for money. It points out all those legitimate things that working actually helps with | |

Whoever said this sounds like FLoyd's SHeep is both right, but horrendously wrong. THis is more of a One of These Days sorta track, complete driving manicness. I agree with the interpretations, the preoccupation on the lovers suggesting that in tragedy love is all that survives. People in Pompeii were found hand in hand, arm in arm, and that is the image we have of them, all that lasts. |

| Guillemots – Redwings Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think this song only works in context of the album. It comes 2 songs after Made Up Love Song #43 which is about a girl who he doesn't think likes him 'I love you, I don't think you care.' but then does 'I Love you, I can't believe you care.' Then there's Trains to Brazil which is about living you life to the fullest and expresses disdain about the parnoia we live in today. Then there's Redwings where suddenly things go wrong. Our character breaks up with his girlfriend, 'splintering a chemistry of friends' It's a beautiful song, very melancholic and really shows off Fyfe's amazing voice. |

The only reason this song is satirical is because of the title - Of course it is there, but only with the title do we see the satire, otherwise it would just be some random pop song. To me it works both ways |

I like the female vocals just before 'In my dreams I'm Jealous all the time' Short but sweet. I agree, it is a beautiful song |

| Hot Chip – Over And Over Lyrics | 19 years ago |

so what makes this "Hot Chip" character so damn good? If you've ever seen the video to this, or heard any of their other songs, or seen any footage of them you would understand. And by the way, the genius is that they manage to produce all of this with 5 Keyboardists and a guitarist. And all the jeyboards are the same (Roland I believe). Love this song. Not the most amazing lyrics, but it works in the context. It is as said before a jab at critics who called them laid back and boring on their first album |
