I agree with whoever said that its about a boy who falls in with the wrong people. Although, I think it's more that he's kind of awkward, and doesn't really now how to socialize, so he gets used. Then to try and fit in he does some shit and then he becomes that kind of person. Also... do Arctic Monkeys=The Death Ramps? |

Also, I think the line is: "Is a kiss too much to ask when you fit me like suday's frozen pitch fits the thermos flask" Meaning that he wants to kiss her and is still attracted to her even though they are a really bad fit and it (whatever it was) didn't work. |

First there are two things I'd like to say. A) Alex turner is one of the most poetic people out there, i mean, here we are trying to figure out what he's saying B) The b-sides are the best. Does anyone agree? As for the track; I believe it's another of the a tormented love songs that Alex has written for us. I think it describes a similar love to that in "Do me Favour". I don't kow if it's a real relationship/s that he sings about, but if it is he's had a hard time of it. The song shows further Turner brilliance in the simplicity of it all. And yet the complexity of emotion comes out. He's so confused about what he feels and the status of the relationship he doesn't know what to think. |

| Arctic Monkeys – Do Me a Favour Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think it's sort of a stream of consciouness of a tormented young man. I think he's fallen in love with someone who he shouldn't/can't/doesn't really want to. Hence the "do me a favour and break my nose/Do me a favour and tell me to go" He's just saying he wants the subject of the song to do something to make him hate her, to give him an excuse to leave. "As she walked away Well her shoes were untied And the eyes were all red You could see that we'd cried" I think this is just her running out on hi as he tries to get her to make him hate her. their both crying because neither wants to part, but both feel it's necessary |

I think the bridge is phenominal. alex's voice is so genuine and off-from the rest to the music btw: Does the title hold any particular meaning? |
