So, "Carl The Cunt": I assume you've formed your opinion without any personal bias against the songs writer? *looks at your username* Obviously not. As for the song, it's not too bad. Carl's written better and it was a bad choice for the first single. As for the song's meaning: It's a mixed sentiment. It's pretty much saying that England can be a bit shit to live in sometimes (and that the queen is basically an irrelevant figure) but ultimately, the good outweighs the bad. |

If you read through it carefully, he's talking to someone who's obviously having similiar issues to him.. He's saying "Sit down and I'll tell you how I survived it". For a song that has quite a few references to suicide (Eg: "Silently return to sharpening your knife" plus the whole chorus is basically saying 'Don't leave") it's incredibly hopeful and unlifting. DPT's best song and one of the greatest B-sides ever. |
