This song explains a little of how Martin feels about God. He doesn't believe in the traditional view of God. He believes in a higher power, just not the traditional view of God. This is what he means by "your own personal jesus". Your own view of God and Jesus as you see it and not what you're told to believe. |

This actually isn't a cover of a song. He simply useda lyric from another song" "Well who's that shouting? John the Revelator" It says on the album and on their site that this song was INSPIRED by the original. It's NOT a cover. If you've ever seen the movie Blues Borthers 2000 the original song Martin got the lyric from is sung at the end. |

To the guy that said this song doesn't feature guitar: You've never even heard the song or seen them live then. Martin plays guitar throughout the entire song. |

I'm very surprised to see some DM fans here who don't know how Martin Gore feels about God. He's made it clear before and also made it clear on the DVD "One Night In Paris - Live" Martin has said numerous times that he doesn't follow any certain religion, but he is a very spiritual person. He said he doesn't believe in the traditional idea of God, but does believe there's a higher power that exists. In other words, he believes in a God, just not the traditional idea of what God is. He is definitely not an atheist. Whoever said that he might be is clearly not a fan of DM. If he didn't think there was a form of a higher being, none of his songs would feature the theme so heavily. SOFAD was a clear sign that he's a very spiritual person who believes in a higher being. Have any of the DM fans here ever even heard that album? |
