I'm actually going to propose something kind of different here. Maybe it's just because I've related it to personal experiences and made it mean what I need it to mean.
A man whose heart has been just obliterated by the woman he so deeply loves is going crazy now because the girl finally came back when it was too late to save him from a minor case of lovesick insanity.
She comes back and just wants it all to just be how it was before she messed up. Well, he just can't take it. He's still processing the betrayal and he can't escape the pain. She's never been hurt like that and all she can focus on is wanting him back how he was before- desperately in love with her and adoring her every second. So when he just can't respond to her like he used to, she pushes anti-depressants on him so he'll just "get back to normal" for her. He refuses because he's not about to medicate himself so he'll forget and forgive her major mistakes. She notices and doesn't like him off the meds because he's not in the palm of her hand anymore. |

I think he's alluding to the idea that by trying to use words to express love we degrade it in some way. It can't go anywhere because we're depriving it of it's legs with our nonsensical attempts at wording a feeling too complex for words. |

I think the woman in this situation knows with every logical fiber of her being that this man is nothing but trouble, so to speak, but she can't help but get lost in the fantasy of being his. So she follows him home and lets him desecrate her logic with his passionate indifference to reality. She's given up on doing the obviously wise thing and has given into his masculine charms.
Unless this is about one of her female lovers, lol, in that case, well, do the necessary rearranging of my proposal. |
