When I saw Tim and Faith on the Soul 2 Soul 2 tour -Faith mentioned that she loved this song becuase the songwriter's mom had died when she was really young. When the writer had gotten older she felt like she had "discovered" her mom all over again and came to terms with her death. So when she is singing the second verse and she sees her "on a cloud" the mom is of course the angel. I think ultimately this is a song about a dream world where the mom is still alive and the writer gets to meet her mom. |
