This song has nothing to do with anti-war, its about the black plague. First off Scarborough Fair was a place of healing in the medeval ages for the plague. It was believed to have healed you if had parsely, sage, rosemary, or thyme in your pocket.
As well as the other lyrics which are to his true love that his is telling he is dying and he wants to be buried near the ocean, with flowers, and just to be remembered. |
