first thing, this is my favourite song off the album, its just amazing, so much depth to the music, as for the meaning, the way i see it, its about jonny's new lady, just how she makes him feel so perfect when they are 'together' and that even with everything going on around him thats not so great, she takes him to a different place thats far away from it all. anyway, im probably way off |

its just an interpretation to me, but the way its written, to me it seems as if its from the perspective of someone younger. initially i thought it was a broken relationship, but as i listened to it more, the father theme became more prominent. |

amazing song. for the meaning, i believe it is about her father leaving her after only 8 years "Did you think it wouldn't be tough? 8 years were never enough", and then the absence he has left is noticeable "There's someone I wish walked through these halls" and impacting on her life "There's never an ounce that I breathe,Without thinking about who I could have been with you, There's never an ounce that I breathe Without thinking about who I could have been if you didn't leave." hope that was accurate enough, first time commenting on here so yeah, hope you all can agree with me :) again, amazing band, amazing song. |
