I think it's about how this guy lost his friend over the years, to drug addiction or just hanging out with the wrong crowd, or something to the likes. It always reminds me of suicide, "had I known how to save a life" It makes me think that we should sort of watch our friends more closely, becuase we never really know what they are thinking. And if they did die, suicide or accidental, who wouldn't feel guilty knowing that if they had paid attention, things might be different... "step one, you say 'we need to talk' he walks, you say 'sit down, it's just a talk' he smiles politely back at you you stare politely right on through" ^^This is saying that if you do think something is off kilter with your friend, you should just talk to them, and ask them if somethings wrong. But make sure to see through fake covers, like I'm fine, I'm just tired, stressed, etc... |

This is my favorite Killers song. I think it's about this guy, who's life is kind of messed up. So this man in red, [who I'm thinking is someone who he doesn't know that well, but trusts] is telling him to run for the hills, before his whole life goes in smoke. He's saying that he really never had that many friends, so he's just going to have to learn to like himself. You better run for the hills before they burn, listen to the sound of the world, don’t watch it turn. I just want to show you what I know and catch you when the current lets you go. ^^ that's my favorite part of the song. He's talking about how you should sort of just live your life, don't worry about what's happening to everyone else. And if you fall out of the current and lose your place in life, that he'll catch you. This is a truly amazing song.. |

I think it's about breakup, and leaving behind everything in that relationship. You also sort of get the idea that the relationshop didn't end very well because she sort of drains the life out of people "kissing the lipless" and the line "I want bury in the yard the grey remains of a friendship scarred" They probably started out as friends, but the whole thing went to hell... |

leeann87, l absolutely love what you wrote. I completely agree with you. I've only heard this song once...on the plane's alternative radio station on the way back from vacation...I must buy the cd. I immediatly loved the song and scribbled down the name of the band on the paper. So yeah...can anyone recommend any other good random bands, > or = to pilate? |

This is pretty much saying that so many people want to look like the 'it' people. You know, the popular, preppy, Barbie-wannabes. Honestly, it's quite sickening in the way that the media actually PROMOTES such an un healthy body image. And we wonder why we have such a problem with anorexia. It's sort of saying that we all go so fast in our lives, that we'll go and go...and go. And eventually we'll run straight into a wall. I agree with KidArson who said that it's kind of like pick your own poison. Cigarettes, drugs, SDTs. Take your pick...You know you want to. |
