| Owl City – Rainbow Veins Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Coolest part is that Owl City is just 1 dude, who got started making his original stuff in his basement on sleepless nights. | |
| Within Temptation – Jillian Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song gives off a feeling of reincarnation or immortality. As if she has done something horrible and wishes to right her wrong. It seems as if she has been seeking an answer for ages, and will remain until she can fix it. | |
| Regina Spektor – Music Box Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I feel it could be about her life since joining a major record label. The "music box" could refer to the music industry and how its so business oriented and mechanical. Ive heard her express her anxiety over the business side of her life in an interview before. She begins and ends the song talking about the music box, but throws the little "plastic voyage" piece in the center. In this part she speaks of doing the dishes, which gives the idea of her being at her home in her own environment, where she can let her imagination go wherever that crazy awesome imagination of hers wants to go. |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Soul Meets Body Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"I cannot guess what we'll discover When we turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels But I know our filthy hands can wash one another's And not one speck will remain" This is my favorite stanza. To me, he is telling his loved one that he cant promise a perfect life, but if they run into hard times they will be able to lean on one another. But he says it so strongly with the last line, promising that nothing can scathe them. |

| Keane – Somewhere Only We Know Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i see a lot of people read into this as a song about love. I think it may be far more transparent and literal. Sounds like he misses the simplicity he used to have in life. As we get older we gain responsibilities and life becomes complicated. I think he just wants to go back to that place where things were easier in his life. | |
| Disturbed – Stricken Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
from what ive heard around, its about a past relationship. However i read on wikipedia that David Draiman said its about "those moments when someone comes into your life and it's almost as if you've been afflicted with a disease you can't get rid of, that's devastating and debilitating." I got a girl, and i like her a lot, but i know i shouldnt cuz i can tell shes just gonna drag me down. Feels kinda like a disease, i dont wanna like her, but what the hell can i do? I guess ill have to run to some abyss. |

| Sarah McLachlan – Adia Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Im more inclined to believe its about its a relationship with a close friend gone bad. "Adia I thought we could make it but I know I can't change the way you feel" This says to me that she wants to be friends again, but she cant make her friend want her back. Then she says she knows that her friend cant be truly happy the way things are by saying: "I leave you with your misery a friend who won't betray" This leads us to believe that sarah betrayed her somehow, and the misery that has taken sarah's place won't do the same, so in a way its a "safer" relationship. So im gonna have to believe in the sarah betrayed her best friend to get w/ a guy story. |

| Foo Fighters – The Pretender Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i never thought of foo fighters lyrics having too much in terms of hidden meanings or agendas. And so its kinda hard for me to jump on the political idea. Instead this song just gives off a slightly angry tone to all those that are fake to themselves and those around them. All those who wear a mask daily, and who keep secrets.("Skeletons" in their closets.) It seems he has grown tired of this giant farce and instead of buckling and giving into it all, he has decided to double his efforts internally and remain true to himself, and to call out the rest of the worlds BS. |

| Chevelle – The Clincher Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Ive read somewhere that Pete, the man who wrote the song, said it was about claustrophopia. He wrote it because he hates being in close quarters with large groups of people. I dont know how accurate that source is but... lyrically it adds up. If it is true, then good eye "hardrocker". Thats pretty insightful. | |
