when i listen to this song, i think about like two friends with a history and one ends up moving away... idk, this could be all wrong, but its what i think when i hear it. Katie, don't cry I know you're trying your hardest And the hardest part is letting go Of the nights we share Ocala is calling (katie's friend, who's moving away, is comforting her and tellin her that its gonna be hard to forget about all thier memories together and maybe they have a history) And you know it's haunting But compared to your eyes Nothing shines quite as bright And when we look to the sky It's not mine, but I want it (so now i think hes tellin her how much he adores her and wants her, but shes taken, or just doesnt want him back..) So let's not pretend like you're alone tonight I know he's there And you're probably hanging out and making eyes While across the room he stares (hes gone, but they still keep in touch, and he knows that shes gotta new guy and he probably feels like she doesnt care about him anymore) I'll bet he gets the nerve to walk the floor And ask my girl to dance (he wants her back, and hes jealous) She'll say yes, because these words were never easier For me to say, or her to second guess But I guess that I can live without you But without you I'll be miserable at best (shes moving on, and he knows he has to do the same, but he thinks he'll be so unhappy forever without her) You're all that I hoped I'd find in every single way And everything I could give Is everything you couldn't take (he loves her, but she just doesnt want him, hes gone) Cause nothing feels like home You're a thousand miles away (he really misses his home and being away from her) And the hardest part of living Is just taking breaths to stay Cause I know I'm good for something I just haven't found it yet But I need it (he wants to try to change and be better to get her back) And this will be the first time in a week That I'll talk to you and I can't speak (they are drifting apart and things are changing) It's been three whole days since I've had sleep Cause I dream of his lips on your cheek (its driving him crazy that he cant be there with her, and he knows shes with someone else, and it should be him) And I got the point that I should leave you alone But we both know that I'm not that strong And I miss the lips that made me fly (he realizes that he has to move forward with his life, but hes not ready to give up on her yet, he just really misses her) i really relate to this bc i recently had an ex move, and we were still really close friends. and i always kinda thought we would get back together. so this song makes me think of him leaving, and how its too late for us. :[ i know we'll eventaully stop being friends too, and he'll completely forget about me. its kinda vice versa for me, this guy in this song (jason i guess) still loves the girl. and now i'm just starting to ramble about my problems haha |
