side not: dont try to analyze a song about heroin, and talk about effects of heroin and the lifestyle if you have obviously never been within a square mile of it.

not a wierd meaning at all whoever said that. appreciate the fact that people do different things than you see acceptable. anyway, i love this song, its so true to the subject. if anyone has ever done that stuff, you'll be able to relate 100% to this song, it really does describe the feeling completely. i really love the reference to "Perfect Day" by Lou Reed also, they had that in mind completely.

Guster – Airport Song Lyrics 19 years ago
i think this song is about falling into heroin addiction. learn to love the price you pay is saying that you don't worry about the toll the lifestyle is taking on your wallet and body, the change from "I'm here seeking only what i need" to "Ill go there seeeking only what i need" i think represents the mentality cahnge from trying it to justifying the repitition. lets see....all the references to "better off this way", "keep you warm", then i think the lyric "no more sad and sunshine days" represents the moderate, content feeling that dope gives you, where nothings perfect but it sure ain't to bad either. ummm "I'll be hiding in your dirty room", its like there is a conversation going on between the drug and the man, the personified drug is bouncing all the things that the man wants to here back to him, he's better off, he'll be safe from troubles and the world, idk this is a troubling interpretation lol very vague are these guys.
the last line is real hard to relate to my interpretation, this is a long shot but many junkies do realize they're downward spiraling life, turn to a quickfix god program, and become jesus freaks. idk one of em sure does love deisel tho they sing about it enough.
