Actually, Parody was ruled as fair use of a copyright by the supreme court (thanks to lawsuit filed by 2 Live Crew). It is no longer necessary to get permission from yhe original artists to parody their songs. Also, as one who has been friends with the Apologetix since 1992, I can say the guys in the band are true musicians who have great respect for the talent of the artists they cover. |
