Like tidy pats i still listen to this song at least once a week and it never fails to stun, the levels are gloriously balanced. The first album is timeless i can listen twice in a row without distraction, i just wish i could see them play this live, i've seen them twice now... they do finish with a strong instrumental on PDA that was amazing though. |

umm what are Toltec bones?, and i understand that those are the lyrics from the liner notes but it really sounds like he says "taunted bones" which would make more sense within the context of the album and/or song.?!? |

I was thinking the same thing that onethinwallaway was, and then decided i didn't give a shit because either way it is way more compelling than 99% of the music that i listen to. If they did make it up kudos to them for thinking something like that up. |

How does this band make such incredible music? i mean they make everybody else look like chumps, kinda like the patriots. I wish i could be in the studio or where ever they put these masterpieces together. And when it comes to arguing about religion its stupid, and honestly the insecurity people have about their beliefs only shows when they say "everyone else believes it" (said in a whiny six year old girl voice) nobody knows what happens to your soul after you die, or even if you have one, so please save those thoughts for the many sleepless nights that those of you who are now unsure are sure to have from this point on. It should be noted that Christianity is just as wack jobbed as every other belief out there. |

Honestly when i read the first two pages of posts my blood boils. Its so infuriating that i can hardly type,The misfits changed the way that music is performed, written and made,(world-wide) their impact on the industry is legendary. The misfits made their own instruments themselves and played gigs to gain a grass roots audience. they never, ever cared about album sales. Nothing is sacred anymore it seems, absofuckinglutely ridiculous, you're all morons. Honestly Britney spears may as well have covered it. |

Perhaps t3gan7 you will realize that any half-assed musician will the financial backing of this band could cut recordings of this stature without ever breaking a sweat, there is no creativity, complexity or even real thought put into these songs. MCR writes music for the radio so they can make alot of money, and laugh at people like you who feel inspired by, or identify with this mass-produced cookie-cutter shite. perhaps if you tried to find an artist who cares about their music, real artists could make a comeback against this army of sell-outs who take advantage of teenage naivety. Besides they really really suck live, gerard can't hit the notes he records, and the entire band plays like shit. Its too pathetic for words. I won't tell this to my diary because such blatant ignorance must be corrected, especially when its this blasphemous, if they hadn't covered a misfits song the post would never have been written. |

interpol has truly mastered the art of subtlety in their music, as the song progresses more and more layers are slid underneath until the climax, but you have to listen for them to hear them, at first listen they blend perfectly so much so that you do not notice them. the levels are perfect, their producer and composer are very talented. |

What was in-praise-of-folly talking about, I feel that De-losued is incredible(roulette dares, drunkship, televators)some of their best work even, TMV more than most bands it seems, isn't afraid to move in a new direction as is evident across their discography and that makes a good band great. If you expect a band to maintain the sound created on their first album you're an idiot. Matter of fact inpraise is crazy, the music is impecable on ammpu. But I digress, from a musical standpoint it sounds as if this song sounds like a backwards song, in terms of its structure, its hard to explain, but when you listen to it, it sounds like omar purposefully composed this song by flipping another song around. Like the beginning of tetra is the end of another(or two meshed together) and the band is playing in the song forward from the end to the beginning note for note. If that is the truth Omar has achieved his place in the greats for sure(in my opin. at least) And omar could be making a statement concurring with the theme of the album(open to interpretation) in a very subliminal manner. |

That reverb near the end in the last stanza, is absolutely amazing. It has to be the most intricate creation that I have ever heard in music period. The reverb alone must have taken weeks to mix (volume, timing, length)into the song. Omar is once again showing his creative prowess at its peak. I cannot wait for next album. |

I personally feel that this song is great....If somebody thinks that the deftones have been moving towards a more mature sound, and are upset with the last excerpt, don't forget this isn't creed. It is rock, the deftones (or Chino if you think this was a solo project) have always moved to shock and diversify their sound in new directions. And it seems to me this is a new direction with old content. If you read the posts about Digital Bath and find out(which was news to me, I never would have guessed that was the story he was telling) what that song is really about, this song is simply the deftones(chino)moving in a new direction with the common deftones(chino) theme. I think the deftones are a democracy in terms what material is put on to albums and sometimes Chino becomes selfish but realizes it. That doesn't mean everyone always agrees unanimously what makes into the final product. |

Wicked song easily a classic, but i wonder was it sam who did the insane drumming on this track? I for the life of me can't remember the name of the guy he replaced, or how many songs replaced drummer worked on with the band, either way Sammy is sick one of the best in the biz to date. |

FUck this Shitty band. MCR isn't worthy of ever covering an Icon of the music they make a mockery of. For those teenagers and uneducated hordes this is a cover song of one of the greatest punk bands of all time. These sell-out artists only chance of redemtion is to commit suicide on stage as an act of repentance. For those of you who care not of artistic integrity, shut your mouths your opinion holds no water on music. Do the research and learn who the true artists(aka people who make music because they love it, never for mass profits) are and who is trying to sell you crap for a fast buck(i.e MCR). I believe this cover to be a pathetic, blasphemous attempt to establish aforementoned integrity they will never have. I'm not saying bands that become popular sell-out, (i.e 311, deftones, tool, nirvana, Led Zeppelin, The Clash) these are shining examples of bands that maintain integrity while becoming popular. MCR is a shining example of a band that sold out before they reached mass popularity.(i.e Good Charlotte, the used, new found glory), Rock for the most part is dead, and lazy idiots who buy crappy records killed it. |

I cannot believe my eyes, they must be decieving me yet again. How can anyone even consider MCR even worthy of attempting to cover an icon of punk such as the misfits. MCR should learn to become more self-aware, stop ripping off massive contributors to the scene they happily make a mockery of. I haven't heard the cover nor will I ever, these sell-out artists whose ego now over-shadows their moderate talent have now made a sham of punk. The true punk artists understand that punk at its core is an underground scene, if you go pop, you have sold your artistic intergrity for popularity. And overall MCR arrogance is sickening, which is evident by their grandstanding videos and catering to the teenage audience. I will not ever consider them true artists, more like soulless actors who care not for the integrity of the music they make, only the profitablility, their only hope of redemtion is to commit suicide on stage as an act of repentance. And Danzig whether you like it or not was the heart and sould of the Misfits, they should have quit while they were ahead, take a page out of Led Zeppelins book. |

To me it sounds like hes moving from realtionship to realtionship. In other words this song would take place over the course of several realtionships, and how he falls for each girl and then grows tired of the realtionship and moves on. Perhaps hes actually trying to find the woman he wants to marry, and thinks he finds her everytime he starts a realtionship and then sees her flaws grows tired and moves on and the story repeats itself. |

| Interpol – Take You on a Cruise Lyrics

I feel that this song tells the story of a pretended seduction of a beautiful woman on a cruise ship. To me it sounds like this a made up conversation in the narrator's head of him seducing a women that he is actually to terrified to approach. "The pretense is not what restricts me, its the circle inside" this line is of course the linchpin to this theory. I think he is trying to pretend like he's a James Bond sort of womanizer, but in actuallity he is to restricted by his conscience because he is already in a relationship, or just to good of a person to love'em and leave'em. |
