| This song is purely instrumental, but whenever i listen to it, i get the feeling its telling me of, lets say, dark messiah, the rising of damnation, and humanity's self-induced destruction. Or in less words, a hopeless world covered in flames. | |

As this is the first song i heard from In Flames, it was an instant favorite and still is one of my top rated In Flames Songs. Any way, i think apart from the other meanings discussed here, the song talks about how we dont care about what happens around us and how we let ourselves be used and fooled, like by the media, goverment, etc. How we dont see humanity self-destroying, instead just closing ourselves in our pseudo-happy world. Also talks about how we just care for our own happiness, waiting for the second level. |

I strongly disagree with ralyks. I believe this lyrics talk about how the he-inside doesn't identifies with the he-outside. Its like he does thinks that he doesn't want to. In the line "Sweet Reflection, will you save a place for me?", he talks about how he wants the inside-he to be part of the outside-he, save a place inside the soul, etc, etc. He gets punished for something he unconciously did, and tries to make up. Maybe the outside me is talking about the animal side of the person, and the inside-me is his conciousness, his goodwill |

| I believe it doesnt have a complete sexual meaning. By reading the entire lyrics, i think it referers to as how the human to demoralize himself and began to indulge in his carnal pleasures, not only sexual ones, and how this a stigmata that every mas has to carry (maybe a pseudo reference to the original sin?) | |
