I love this song so much. Every time I hear it, it instantly calms me down. I think it's about a guy who loves a girl, but he doesn't want to. He's disenchanted with love, and he's been through it all before ('And it's all too familiar and it happens all the time'). Eventually he gives in, but he isn't sure ('But it's you I can't deny'). Part of him wants to accept it ('You're safe, child, you are safe'), but the other part is sceptical ('Is this all too familiar? Does it happen all the time?'). The end is left open for interpretation, but I like to think they stay together =) |
