This song is about someone who is completely hopeless, who lies in his room all day, in complete isolation, drinking and thinking and staring at the shadows sleeping on the walls, no windows. This song was very poignant at a time when I felt very much the same, though I was underage so not so much alcohol and I didn't have a girlfriend who I hadn't seen in weeks. |

"You say that hells below us/Lord, heaven can be mine/don't believe your promises/don't believe your lies" it seems this is a challenge, with what degree of conviction I don't really know, to god, to prove and assert himself. If you're really there let it rain on me. With all this strife and turmoil in the world the least an omnipotent and rightious being could is show they're up there and that they care. |

Wow, can't believe no one has commented on this masterpiece! It's seems to be about some sort of let down or dissapointment, though tracing its source would take more time than I care to. The opening lines are beyond classic, they're in some other realm entirely. |
