Is anyone actually gonna talk about what this song means? I'd love to know. There seems to be alot of reference to death, and boviously ilness. "white coats and this medince" "next fix is the clouds and the pearly gates" "to get a grip and cherish their good health" I really want to know what it actually meant by "its all your fault." Is the persona saying this to himself or somebody else?! |

I guess its about losing someone, either through death or break up ..and obv someone that meant alot and was threfore a 'lucky star' as it says "keeps on burning out" and this person is obviously missed because he wants to "bring back what we had back then" x |

This song in actually beautifull ♥ I'v always imagened the line "you've seen and you've marked horizons" as an attempt of suicide..you know, slitting your wrists.. It's an awesome song, that I also see as being about hating yourself "harder to like yourself , harder to try" |

As a teenager this song means the world to be. It is a brilliant song trying to encourage people who feel like suicide to "Hold on" because "You're not alone" ... I don't know where I would be without this song, its saved me in its own way __x |

This is one of my alltime favourite REM songs, it's beautifull and the lyrics are awesome! It based on a letter Michael wrote to a friend who died before he had time to read it. I'v sometimes veiwed this as i suicide note although I don't think it was aimed to be __x |

The song is clearly about working at night and sleeping during the day..as you can tell from the title I think one of the influences with this song is something Michael went through once... |
