"you're the leaky sink of sentiment" In my opinion: this means that, like the other lyrics point to, this break up surrounds the fact that the singer loves the one he/she is leaving but they hold them down. A leaky sink of sentiment makes sense with this because A) Whats more annoying than a leaky sink, showing the singers feelings B) This is a sink of sentiment that holds the emotions he/she is feeling C) Its dripping the emotions he/she is feeling slowly away |

I think noone is looking at the phrasing the words: "Laugh hard its a long ways to the bank" These words do seem to be the most catchy/central phrase of the song. So let me try to shed some light on them. People here have suggested it is a humorous look at the greed of others (whether that be about rape or not) and that it also may be a successfull swindle or even his lawyer ripping him off. But you don't seem to see the tense here. He says laugh HARD because its a LONG ways to the bank. As in you'll need to grin and bear it, or fake it, etc... to the cash out. For me this is deffinetly not humorous or successful but more slightly disappointed seeing as laughing the bank isn't as easy as it sounds. |

They put it up on their myspace and I do love it! few suggestions: to me "Cause I've overcommitted myself." sounds like "Cause I've overcommit myself" and "Oh that I've grown up" sounds like "Now that I've grown up" these changes go along with the idea that the singer grows up during the song. |
