omfg_1000, why did you even bother to post? Also: haven't you read all the damn possible explanations? |

I can interpret it as a relationship (not necessarily sexual) where the love and care has gone, at least from one side. And not only is that gone, but the necessity of one to carry on makes him/her desperate for that which was lost to return (while the other has no real hope of t ever coming, apparently). |

Yeah, Davey is very religiously ambiguous. There are definitely some Christian (Catholic, to be precise) undertones there, but his exact position is hard to tell.
But the line "Hide your eyes in heaven, in the lies. Believe. Relieve." is not an attack to religion or heaven, but rather to those who use religion and heaven as ways to relieve themselves of how much they could have done and didn't for others. God offers salvation after death and some help here, but we are the ones that must act to make the world a better place.
I'm a pseudo-Catholic, BTW. |

While AFI does use many religious references, they don't use them for exactly religious purposes. "Evil" and "good" are used rather to represent the feelings in the songs. God represents peace and purity, while he uses Lucifer to represent his anger and despair.
But ultimately, there is no real indicator of what Davey or the rest of the band has for religion. |

Also, he gives others permission to hurt his social life as much as they want, but warns them that none of them will be able to take back the damage. |

To me it is in a way like Confortably Cumb.
The main character of DU has given up on his life due to several conflicts, and ask the others of decemberunderground not to make him come back to his life until there is an actual reason for it. He practically enters a coma, not caring about anything after having dealt with so much sorrow. |

Even though I am very young, I consider myself a Straight Edge. OK, I do drink soft drinks, but I will try to slowly substitute them. But I consider that the essence of this is not dependign on anything, and being able to think by yourself. |

I see this from the conxept album. This track is probably about how the chracter is trying to kill his grief (Kiss and control talks about a suicide) after the death of hsi girlfriend in the shallowness of the city, but he really doesn't belong there. |

I think that it is directed ot politics, who use money to convince everyone (Even paying preachers to say that they are the right candidates).
but I am not sure if the line "your messiah was never mine" is supposed to come from the politics or from Korn (as politics have money as thier god/savior). |
