In the 2nd stanza it says: I have climbed these walls before And im not scared anymore There's a time to lead and a time to follow Because I won't take this anymore.. ^^that one stanza has soo much meaning. It talks about facing some of the same problems once again but this time not letting them ruin him this time. The song is right when it says theres a time to lead and a time to follow..and this time around its time to lead. Those walls are trying to stop him from getting past his problems but he's gotten through it before..which is why he says he's not scared anymore. He realizes its time for him to regain control of his life and not let the same shit ruin him anymore. this song gives me so much strength when i hear it. |

I absolutely adore this song. I can relate to their entire album [Getting Away With Murder]. This song screams meaning. It has so much to say. Behind every one of their songs is a story begging to be told. This song is basically about running his own life and not letting other people control him. The song tells us that he makes his own decisions no matter the situation and if he makes the wrong choice he just has to try and move on because theres no going back. ..very powerful song |

i love how they remade this song and gave it an updated sound. its my current ringtone on my cell. tehe =] but anyways..about the meaning.. the things that happens to him in this song just goes to show that he's very nieve. if he thinks that making food for ur bf/gf and having a secret hangshake with your bf/gf is love then he's got it all wrong. love is a deep connection, a trust, and something that cant be destroyed. its far more complex than simply giving someone meds when their stomach is upset. i love this song dearly but some parts of it displays the wrong message. |

This song is really deep. Its one of those songs that forces itself into your head and sticks to your heart. It makes you think about the message that the band it trying to send. I can relate to the part.. "Well Jesus Christ, I’m not scared to die, I’m a little bit scared of what comes after." because I often wonder the same thing. What's going to happen to me after I die? For me, dying isn't the scary part...not knowing what comes afterwards is. |

Unfortunetly, I can relate to this song in ways that I wish I couldn't. About a year ago I was with this guy and things were going pretty good untill one night he lost control and was hitting me and pushing me around. "Cover up with make up in the mirror tell yourself it's never gonna happen again you cry alone and then he swears he loves you." ^^thats exactly what I was going through. Then the song says, "Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?" and I think it made him feel good because he would laugh as he pushed me around. I would yell at him to stop...but he would just keep laughing. "Face down in the dirt she says, this doesn't hurt she says I finally had enough.." ^^thats exactly how it was. It only happened one time because I'd be damned it I ever let him lay a hand on me again. So after that I dumped him. |
