| Bush – The Chemicals Between Us Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I would interpret the chorus as referencing a toxic, sexless relationship. There is such a deep past between them, with so much drama that they hold out on each other sexually. They both think they're right, both their egos are strong, therefore they create walls between them in bed. The singer lies next to her every night with his eyes open while she sleeps reminiscing a time when they had love and passion instead of bitterness and hate. That's why it is the loneliest place; he has his girl by him, but there's nothing there so it's even lonelier than being alone. In the beginning he asks her to remember a time when their love was innocent and full. And he also wants her to surrender, let down her guard. However so much damage has been done between them over the years that they cannot go back to innocent lovemaking without holding back. Their chemicals have been displaced. |

Balisongabraxas: I think "golden ear" is a synonym of her golden ability of listening. she listens to what she is being taught and told, but what else is there? Isn't there any more then what people on earth can teach us? Is it worth it to listen? there's more for us out there to learn that can't be explained in human terms. |

I think this song is about dreams and the secrets and wonders of life that we don't know but want to. Maybe our dreams are reality, and what we see and think is truly our life really isn't. The houses and girl floating in the video represent the essence of a dream. When you are dreaming, you are in your bed on solid ground, but your mind isn't. Dreams take you above the clouds into a different world. Same with the girl, you float above everything you understand. "Roads end getting nearer, we cover distance, but not together" Life is one long road, and you the distance you are covering separately is with your soul. I don't know, i guess that's how i interpret it. |

| The Postal Service – Sleeping In Lyrics | 19 years ago |

to me this song is about a guy who realizes all the problems in the world and yet 'don't wake me i plan on sleeping in' i find these words to represent that through all these problems he just wants to continue sleeping and being blind to them.. like most people in the world... we don't care about issues like global warming.. we are all just sleeping in |
