I agree with some of what all of you are saying, but I think he is really searching for some sort of higher purpose in his life. He is definitely going through a transition and probably has not been able to get to wherever it is he thought he would be at this point in life. But he truly feels insignificant in the world with very little-to-no outside assistance; he is all alone to figure out his current/future situation. He is down and depressed and trying to find something out there to make his situation seem less of a major challange. Perhaps in an effort to motivate himself? Anyway, that's just my interpretation. I think it is one of my favorites from Carbon Leaf. I can't wait to see them in concert! |

| I have to agree with secondhandsmoke, this is definitely about a guy who is in love with a girl who either doesn't really pay him much mind, is totally aloof, or may be interested in him but really doesn't know how to show it. Any way you see it, what is evident is that he is a bit lost with the lack of luster in their relationship. I tend to think it is the latter, but that is my interpretation of the song.
