I'm not sure why this idea popped into my head, but I tried looking past the sex and keep in mind the album as a whole. I know there are certain holes in my idea but I thought I woould put it out there. Maybe the character is thinking about killing some sort of leader person in order to make him the new god. But while thinking he goes back and forth between becoming the new god and getting rid of his old self (you can have my isolation you can have the hate that it brings you can have my absence of faith you can have my everything) and being his old weak self (help me i broke apart my insides help me i've got no soul to sell help me the only thing that works for me help me get away from myself) Then the last two line really make me feel like killing to become the new god allows him to stay alive (you are the reason i stay alive) Like he becomes in charge and nobody can kill him. I don't know if this is accurate at all or just me having a weird idea. But it's just another idea about the song that nobody else talked about. . |
