They talk to her even though she is gone (what they are dishing out). And if the day came that they called out to Kate and she replied, it would kill them on the inside. Because what is worse than losing your child only to hear her crying for her parents and not being able to reach her? As for jesses counting up to seven, each year that she lived, the parents think back to those years spent with K(ate). Jesse repeating "Seven, loved you so much" is because that's the last year the parents spent with her and that is how they will always remember Kate. As a seven year old girl, they will never know her as 8, 13, or 21. So each year elasped after 7, they can do nothing but love her as their seven year old daughter. |
