To Me: This song makes me thing its about; a girl that wont make the same mistakes as her mother, looking back seeing what her mother done and took she wont do it and learned the hard way. Because of you .... - she wont go and be able to do everything she imaged because she is scared and has relationship issues because she's afraid. Very confused and weak, so she has to pretend. Because of someone else she's trying to live and trust but the thing is she saw (i think) her mother suffer and she doesnt know what shes going to do. I like this song because it reminds me of my parents, and when they werent together and then when they were. Its a great song! |

To ME: Someone who is looking for someone that can be more of a support person because they have suffered with others before. Dealing with a broken heart is never nice. Or the person that they want. She might have been in a bad relationship and has been wishing and waiting for the right person to come along but her hands where tied.... But then guy comes along, and he is exactly what she's looking for, but she might possibly expect too much from him. "Take these tears...wash your skin". My Hands Are Tied, My Head is Reelin, My Eyes Have Cried A million Tears" - Waiting and Wanting this person, but still she is sadened " all my life Ive welcomed Pain" so she stopped putting everything into a relationship, now she's in one and has decided that its all in the past, and is willing to have a go at the relationship again... and theres hope that it wont be like the previous relationship. She could have even been singing about needing someone to help and I can relate to the song ;) and its so nice. |

To Me: Its like you've just broken up with someone and your remembering what they were like. Then Fergie sings about shelter and clarity - so she needs some time to figure out what it is she wants and needs. Big Girls Dont Cry - Mature and grown up she still feels like a child especially alone and scared but its something that she needs to do and reminding herself that "the path I am walking I must go alone, I must take Baby steps until Im full grown"- She will start slowly but surely, its something she needs to do . The person that left, she will miss but its not just for her its for him. Maybe she knew this person for a long time and she states that they are like school mates, which obviously states that things are so much harder than when you meet a young boy in the playground things are so much simpler when your a child. |

To Me: Its looking in the mirror and realising that another person is leaving and that you cant be with them. Sometimes in life you have to walk away and do the inevitable and be with someone you dont necessarily want to be with but you have to walk away and not go back. Theres so many people around you but you just cant move past the one person who made you happy and feel safe. No matter who you are with you think about them even if you can only be friends, but its not enough. Friends that tried to be toghether but in the end it just didnt work and "say if you love somebody and you have got to set them free, I would rather be lied to by you than live in this pain and misery" if its meant to be they will come back and if they dont ...they dont! You love them more than life and really would preferr to live a lie than in misery but either way its going to end badly. I love this song, I always have Ive been listening to it since I was 14yrs old. It means so much to me and always brings back memories of the past.
