| The Streets – Streets Score Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"my sarcastic brick twist daunting" ought to be "my sarcastic Brit twist on t'ing" The first set of ??s at the end of the first verse should be "call me The Quick Draw McGraw Show". I don't know what he says after that. |
| Josh Pyke – The Summer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Absolutely incredible song. Have listened to it probably a hundred times over the last week, just from first getting the album. I love the story it conveys... to me it sounds like the teenagers who met at the holiday homes their respective families visited every year. And the summer represents their relationship because that's the only time they're together. "The winter holds a bite we'd never felt before" is about how they're apart when they return to their normal lives after the summer. |

| The Pigeon Detectives – Take Her Back Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| By the way, good work, tef. Your entire "meaning" of the song paraphrased the first verse. I bet a lot of thought went into that, hey? | |
| The Pigeon Detectives – Take Her Back Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Does somewhat highlight the morals involved with dating people of different ages. I find it pretty interesting in that. And it does sound weird when you have a friend who's 17 going out with a guy 7 years older than her... I know. | |
| Angus and Julia Stone – All Of Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Breaks my heart every time. Reminds me of a girl who I wasted an opportunity with. | |
| Birds of Tokyo – Wayside Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Great song. Can't really decipher a meaning, personally... I know there's sometrhing there, but I'm stuck for thought at the moment. It made the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2007 countdown yesterday. :D |
| Lupe Fiasco – Sunshine Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Probably one of the best songs from Food & Liquor - alongside He Say She Say. | |
| Lupe Fiasco – Baba Says Cool for Thought Lyrics | 18 years ago |
That writing is littered with spelling mistakes and words missing from teh actual track... Who is Katrina? |
| Lupe Fiasco – Hip Hop Saved My Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Apart from that Nikki Jean sounds dead-hot in this song, it's brilliant. Lupe Fiasco's The Cool was a brilliant return album. |
| John Legend – Again Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Definitely agree... Must be about cheating on his spouse. Not a doubt. | |
| Jamie T – Ike & Tina Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I have the same thing as 2HANDS... But this song is the exception. Both Arctic Monkeys CDs sucked for the first time for me, but now they're my favourite albums (Favourite Worst Nightmare level with Panic Prevention and WPSIA,TWIN being somewhere in with Lupe Fiasco and Talib Kweli) |
| Bloc Party – SRXT Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I can't see how anyone could possibly be disappointed with this album. I read every reply to this song, and most of you all said the same thing. I don't get what the point is. Like 4 of you said SXRT means Seroxat which is an anti-depressant and basically everyone said it was about suicide and that it's a beautiful song. Also, I've just seen that directly above my comment box that I'm typing into now there is a link titled "Teen Depression". |
| T-Pain – Bartender Lyrics | 18 years ago |
How could you possibly say this has no meaning? It's about as deep as when Akon sings "I see you winding and grinding on that pole, you see me looking and you and you already know I wanna fuck you." So, basically, he sees a dancer in a strip joint and realises that he wants to have sex with her. Deep, yeah? Being dumped by your girl and going to a club full of ugly chicks and getting into the bartender is much better. The very first comment (by drewsbaby1) said: "it makes you think." LOL!!!!11!!!one!!!1!!!!eleven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 |
| Lupe Fiasco – Hurt Me Soul Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I do like this song, but am confused about why he says about boycotting Jay-Z. They always describe Lupe as Jay-Z's protege, and they always do work together, yet he says he's against his material? Can someone explain that to me? Thanks. |
| Parkway Drive – Guns For Show, Knives For a Pro Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Love the start... absolutely kills. | |
| Parkway Drive – It's Hard To Speak Without A Tongue Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love "We'll dig oyur fucking grave" Good song, though. First Parkway song that I really liked... Now I've got Killing With A Smile |
| Darren Hanlon – Elbows Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i'm not going to read the lyrics... but having heard it a few times... isn't it about someone that doesn't know him that he loves |
| The Grates – Trampoline Lyrics | 18 years ago |
definately about sex... even Triple J's Rosie Beaton said so. She described it as a song about free love. |
| Arctic Monkeys – Riot Van Lyrics | 18 years ago |
well with all due respect that what you said about the police not doing their jobs properly is also a bit of a dead giveaway. Maybe just by "They ask why they don't catch proper crooks". Sorry... but i think you were stating the obvious too. |
| Hilltop Hoods – City Of Light Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i love this song. can anyone tell me what the "home of the serial killer" line is all about? |
| Arctic Monkeys – When the Sun Goes Down Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| check out the clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lauKSyePq2w | |
| Parkway Drive – Gimme A D Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I can't understand a sinigle word that he says even with the lyrics infront of me. There's a Parkway Dr. where I live and teh signs keep getting stolen as soon as new ones get put up. | |
| D12 – Good Die Young Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The first time I heard this song was at a friends funeral... And whenever I hear it I always try to think about what was said in the sermon "don't mourne the death, celebrate the life..." I always think of my friend when I hear it. But I agree about the raw emotion involved in the song. |
| Arctic Monkeys – Fluorescent Adolescent Lyrics | 18 years ago |
you took a left off Laspark Lane --> you took a left off Laslaf Lane --> Should be "Took a left at Last Laugh Lane" The original lyrics are right |
| A Tribe Called Quest – Buggin' Out Lyrics | 18 years ago |
first time i heard this song was on Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2. It's pretty good and suit the game well. But yeah, I like A Tribe Called Quest in the songs they did with De La Soul, they were great |
| Gang Starr – Moment of Truth Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I only first heard it on Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2. It's really good, though! |
| De La Soul – Buddy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with dadfmenow - this is a really good song as are so many of De La's songs. But they have gone unrecognised for so long It's a shame because they arre so talented and I love the Best Of CD. |
| De La Soul – Ring Ring Ring Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I want that Hey how ya doing "Sorry ya can't get through Why don't you leave your name And your number And I'll get back to you" for the message on my answering machine. I bet heaps of people have thought of that before me, but I tink it'd be great! |
| De La Soul – Say No Go Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| At least not all rap has to be about doing drugs, murder and fucking hookers. De La is a breath of fresh air! | |
| The Beatles – Yesterday Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Lennon once said "The only good thing you ever did was Yesterday" about McCartney. This is The Most Covered Song Ever. More remakes of this than any other song! |
| The Beatles – Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| YESSSS! There are actually other people that believe that he burned her house down. Maybe something along the lines of she bailed on him so he burned her house down, but you can't really bail on someone who is in your house. So i don't quite understand that part - but anyway, I still believe that he burned the place down | |
| Tenacious D – Fuck Her Gently Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| "And then I’ll fucking bone you completely" | |
| Jay-Z – Soon You'll Understand Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I always thought that this song was a tru story ok Jigga. I though all the songs he were basically about his life. Well - if this is about Scarface I must've been wrong | |
| The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
when this song was created John Lennon wanted to make a song that was a bit like and Orgasm (see the movie The Compleat Beatles) where it started a little bit soft and slow and turned into something powerful and strong. I think this song has a lot of meaning behind it and im glad Fishbowl above me said something about it because I hadn't seen the song in that light yet. |
| Twista – Kill us all Lyrics | 18 years ago |
yeah - let's see if he goes through with the whole kamikaze mission - I don't think so HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU CALL THAT KEEPIN' IT REAL? THIS IS ALL A LOAD OF BULLSHIT |
| Gnarls Barkley – Just a Thought Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I disagree with Tyler2004 (at the top) - I don't believe this song is about "mental unbalance" or insanity, but more like a deep feeling of depression which leads him to want to end it all there. I love the line: "Why is this my life? Is almost everybody's quesiton" The realism behind that line is what I love. But why this song is amongst my favourites of all time is because I have felt a lot of what he says - When I'm in the Doldroms and it seems everyone is against me. Horrible feeling - It comes and goes. Hope you don't have to feel it. |
| Twista – Hope Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| great way to end Coach Carter - I agree with you little miss failure | |
| Sick Puppies – All The Same Lyrics | 18 years ago |
They wrote the song for a guy called Juan Mann (probably an alias name - I don't now - but I'm not goona go looking into it) who the lead singer saw in the Sydney CBD back ehre in Aus :) So heart warming the film-clip, isn't it? I think it's one of my favourites :) Makes you hope that maybe there could still be love in this cold world. And that it got banned but they managed to start a petition and get 10,000 people to sign it! I LOVE THE FILM-CLIP :) |
| Arctic Monkeys – Riot Van Lyrics | 19 years ago |
somewtimes short songs are more effective look at the beatles, barely ever did a song over 2 1/2 minutes although that may have had somehting to do with radio not playing songs over 3 minutes |
| Hilltop Hoods – The Nosebleed Section Lyrics | 19 years ago |
sorry - I keep coming back to post more comments :| A standard Monopoly board game only has like $14,500 in it. so he bought heaps of the games to have half a mil! |
| Hilltop Hoods – The Nosebleed Section Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| the chorus was actually adapted from the Melanie Safka song "People in the front row". they even got the beginning from it - with the flute or piccolo, whatever it is | |
| Hilltop Hoods – The Nosebleed Section Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Fuck compare any day - Aussie Hip-Hop can surpass american rap every day! I had to correct myself! -reading over what i wrote again. | |
| Hilltop Hoods – The Nosebleed Section Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Who does the chorus? Is that Melanie? I dunno, me dad reckons he recognises the voice, me, i don't give a shit. this song is kick-arse. I'm still a relatively recent fan, only recently having set my dial to Triple J, but I still ehar this song a lot. Screw the main stream crap rfom the States - I'd much rather listen tou our Aussie Hip-Hop, which can compare any day! |
| Hilltop Hoods – Stopping All Stations Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I'm a relatively new fan to Hilltop Hoods, having only recently set the dial to Triple J. But now "Stopping All Stations" is my favourite song. Can't get enough of it. I love the entire meaning of the song. Really sad though. Should have done better on the Top 100 that 54 (or something). Scary how accurately it portrays life like that though. |
| Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 19 years ago |
when the lyrics "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now, It's just a spring clean for the May queen. Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on" are played backwards they say "Here's to my sweet satan, the one whose little path would make me sad, whose power is satan. He'll give you give you 666. There was a little toolshed where he made us suffer, sad satan". scarily enough before writing this song the guy bought a house where a man practised satanism in a small toolshed in his backyard! Check out the site for the lyrics at: http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/stairway.php |
| The Beatles – Eleanor Rigby Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| another song that has strong meaning when played backwards is Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" where there's satanic messages! For real, if played backwards with the subtitles underneath its recogniseable, but still sounds scary | |
| Coldplay – Fix You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love the end of the fil clip where you have hundreds of thousands of people singing the song. possibly the best song to sing in a massive chorus along with Oasis' "Wonderwall". Love It. Sad song though, lots if heart and meaning. fantastic | |
| Oasis – Wonderwall Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It was so magic when we were coming back from a drama excursion, this is a bus full of kids who love to perform and don't mind making an arse of themsleves, and i had the whole back of the bus singing "Wonderwall". it was fantastic, one of the greatest songs to sing in a chorus along with Coldplay's "Fix You" | |
