This is a moon without a tide//
Tides are caused by the moons rotation around the earth, just like summer and winter is caused by the earth rotating around the sun(and the tilting of the Earth on its axis). By saying "This is a moon", it means the place where they are, and "Without a tide" means that the place is no longer rotating like it should be, hence it remains winter.//

When the colors' getting brighter: Once the winter is over, spring will happen, and instead of the boring whites and greys there will be a whole range of bright colors. Cold Desire: This word is rather decieving. I don't think it means "cold" as in the sentimental sense, but rather the literal sense. The witch had a desire for cold, so she turned narnia into winter, which was pretty damn cold. It also turned into a moon without a tide, like i said earlier.
I would also like to state that on the back of Show Your Bones there is a sort of winter landscape, which goes with the whole narnia theme. |
