This song reminds me of growing up so much, The first paragraph is all about parents how almost every time they are right about things, you don't care how thier lives are going as long as they leave you alone. Also with being a parent is the big learning experience that changed everyday along with you never completely done being a parent until you die. The chorus being about when your young how nothing you do is ever right for everybody because someone will always be unhappy with your choices, and with life no one is ever completely happy with thier life growning up, but as time goes on they are forgotten. the second line is about how you need to make the best of what your given when you grow up. no one ever wants what there given but stop complaining and make the best of it The second verse being about after your grown up alittle, had your first love and lost it, knowing that other persons life and realied your life wasn;t as bad as thiers. every time in life when you thought you weren't gonna make it thru this other person had it harder and wondered how they made it thru when they should be dead. This person goes back to where he spent most of his time growing up and remembers all the fun he had but still thinking life as more than just a job where you do the things your suppose to and not question them. He doesn;t care if his ex stays there in the old town or leaves and goes off on her own but tells her it would better to leave because everything has changed for everyone since him and her left. but he knows that once someone from his past weather it be a friend of or his ex dies, everyone will be back together for the funeral so everyone can sit around an reminece about all the good things in life they did when they were younger because it makes for a better reason for everyone to get back together without any of the animositys getting between the friends of his ex's and him. third verse is about him sitting back thinking about his life in one night and how at the time nothing ever seemed perfect but it was good enough for the moment. all the things he could have died doing or gone crazy if he would have stayed doing either drugs or stupid choices. now hes shocked that as he grows older people from his past are making good with thier lifes tell him they are sorry for past mistakes. The last verse makes me think of the person thinking of his ex and how the person in her life died and he doesn;'t care that he died and it wouldn't bother him if the person was murdered and put in a shallow grave but he still wants to be there for his ex to comfort her because all the feelings are still left for her inside. Even after all the pain she put him thru, he still cares for her somewhat or wants her back |
