Eyeshine – Sunday flower Lyrics 16 years ago
I seriously cannot believe no one has left a comment on this song. This is my favorite of Eyeshine's but all their stuff is simply awesome. To me this song is about the beginnings of a relationship that hasn't quite started yet. You know, where you have those butterflies at first and everything's a little awkward but in a good way. All you want to do is be around that person but you don't want to come off as crazy or anything so "I guess I'll see ya next Sunday..." Sunday seems to be the only day that the two get to see each other in this song. That's just what it means to me = )

Pillar – Fireproof Lyrics 18 years ago
Does listening to a song when you work out make it not a Christian song? And I do agree that anyone can interpret any song how they want but hard rock songs are not at all "ruined" when referenced to God, if anything it strengthens them.

Plus, another reference to God in the song is when he says "I extol the almighty" God is many many times in the Bible referred to as the Almighty and to "extol" is to praise, thus praising the Lord. I guess what I'm trying to say is there are more references to God in this song then there aren't so if you disagree give a legitimate reason for it.

Pillar – Bring Me Down Lyrics 19 years ago
This is probably my favorite Pillar song. It seriously rocks. But as for its meaning...

Of course it's talking about someone who used to blame everyone else for his own mistakes and could never take responsibility for his own actions and the consequences they brought.

However, this person has changed and I'd say, because Pillar is a Christian band, that this person found God and realized it's no one else's fault but his own that what has happened thus far has happened and now he's trying to tell what he's learned to everyone else, or atleast the ones trying to bring others down.

Also, he could be talking about Satan being the one trying to bring others down and now he's telling the devil himself that "You can't bring me down," and maybe he's telling others to quit blaming other people and stand up and show Satan that he can't touch anyone that's a Christian (because it's true, so long as we don't let him).

P.S. "What goes around always comes back around."
Yea it is true that this is a Hindu and Buddhist belief and it is called karma but it is also a Christian belief as well. It states in the Bible (not in these exact words) that the wicked shall have wickedness cast upon them someday and that the righteous will be rewarded with crowns.

Pillar – Wherever the Wind Blows Lyrics 19 years ago
This is one of my favorite Pillar songs. It seriously rocks.
But I think it's about a man who knows he's about to die and he's just waiting to go to Heaven.
"I've been here for so long
I think it's time I moved on"

However, he has someone he truly cares for that's still very much alive and he can see the pain she's feeling because of his soon-to-be-death but he reassures her:
"Wherever the wind blows
You will find me there
Standing exactly where I want to be
Wherever the wind blows
You will find me there
Standing exactly where I want to be"
He wants her to know that he will always be with her no matter what and to listen for the wind because that will be his love.

This truly is a beautiful song and there are some other references to my meaning, such as:

"Wasting time here is killing me
Waiting here for the remedy
So I can hear the sound of angels sing
I need something to carry me
To a place that I've never seen
Cause right here I've seen all there is too see"
This is about him waiting for the remedy to whatever is killing him but he's so tired and so he's begging God to take him. He's seen everything there is to see on Earth and just wants to see his new home which is of course Heaven.

"Well I've been waiting, waiting for the day
So can you take me, carry me away
Carry me away
You elevate me
How far can you take me, take me
Carry me away"
Lastly, this is actually about the Lord lifting him to Heaven as when he takes you to Heaven you are elevated there. Awesome song.

Thousand Foot Krutch – Breathe You In Lyrics 19 years ago
Yea, this song is definitely one of the best by TFK. Don't know if it is about someone going to war, but I like the idea. Here's my take on it.

I think it's about a guy talking about a girl and how sometimes things just didn't go right and they've drifted one way or another but he knows he doesn't want to lose her and so he asks God to help him.
"I'm going in so cover me
Your compass will help me turn the page"
He's making his last move because he knows if he messes it up this time then he'll never get this girl back. The compass is God's guidance and turning the page is getting past the problems they had.

Towards the end of the song he says;
"I took a walk to see
all the love that's around me
Through the highs and lows
there's a truth that I know
and it's you
Yeah"
And this is about him actually talking to the girl and telling her that she's what he wants and that's all that matters. He wants to be able to "breathe you in" for the rest of his life.

Pillar – Fireproof Lyrics 19 years ago
I disagree. I think this song is most definitely about God and since Pillar is a Christian band, my thought is well placed. I think the song means that so long as someone trusts in the Lord and believes without a doubt that he died for your sins that you can never go to Hell. Hell is depicted as being a fiery place where your soul will burn for eternity, however since he trusts in God and only God, he is fireproof (hellproof).

Pillar – Holding On Lyrics 19 years ago
I know someone is going to dispute this with me and say "oh every song has to be about a girl doesn't it?" but I don't care. I think this song is about a guy who has a girlfriend who he's madly in love with but she's very carefree and independent and doesn't know if she wants to be with him for the rest of her life. However, he knows without a doubt that he wants to be with her and just her and so he'll "be holding on" until she figures out that he's been there this entire time. Just my opinion.
